I'm thinking with all the new characters popping up in the DCU, (namely us) that the backstory explaining it is gonna rely on alternate realities like earth-2 and so forth.Dc has used this many times and to good effect, so any interest in starting an Earth-7 or something version of the Justice League?

One of the concepts I've come up with is a character named John Redstar, He's Earth-7's version of Superman with a twist.

While visiting Earth-7 with his parents Jir-El and Lura, their spaceship was struck by a strange green meteorite. His parents lost control of the craft and crash landed in the desert of New Mexico. Both of his parents were killed in the wreckage but Jon was rescued by a Navajo medicine man who saw the bird of fire fall from the sky.Jon was taken in and raised by the medicine man and his wife who had no children of their own.
When Jon was nearing adulthood, the old medicine man lay on his deathbed and told him about the crash and his parents and of a prophecy about a man from a red star falling from the sky who would become that worlds greatest hero.Thinking the old man was delirious Jon dismissed the story and after mourning the old mans passing left the reservation to enter Metropolis University becoming a Professor of Indian Archeology.
On one of his digs he came across pieces of the wreckage of his spaceship and a glowing green meteorite.Sickened by the radiation and half-dead, Jon crawled across the desert clutching a broken fragment of metal from the spaceship. When he awoke the next morning, somehow, the fragment of metal had imprinted on his consciousness, telling him of his home planet, of his parents and his destiny. He soon discovered he could fly, had super-strength, invulnerability and could shoot beams of fire from his eyes.
He took the name Jon Redstar to honor the old medicine man who had raised him and became that planets greatest hero.

That's kind of a neat idea, Ravendark. With the large number of people that I'd imagine will be making 'inspired' characters, you should be able to form an interesting League.

This was the original idea behind the League of Champions when OD and I created it on Champions prebeta. Should make for pretty interesting characters.

Ravendark, I really enjoyed your alternate realty version of Superman bio. Nice twist to the old classic.

OKay i've finally got an idea:

In the universe of Earth-7, Abya Sur was the Green Lantern of Sector 2814. When on route to the Green Lantern HQ on Planet Oa, her ship is attacked and she crashes on Earth. She was injured, but her ship was damaged and her Power Ring was nearly drained, protecting her from injury in the landing. In desperation, she sent her ring to find someone who would be worthy of the ring had she perished, in order to seek help to fix her ship. The ring found Hal Lane (son of Sam Lane and Jessica Lane, half brother of Lois Lane) an Aircraft Mechanic for the Military. He followed the pulse of the Ring back to Abya. Smitten with the Alien Female, he agreed to attempt to fix the ship. Over the course of the year that he repaired Abya's ship, she dwelled with Hal and they became lovers. When her ship was fixed, she told Hal that she had to return to Oa, as her fellow Lanterns should have found her many months before. After she bid him farewell, Hal stowed away on her ship as she prepared to launch.

Upon returning to Oa, Abya found the planet in chaos. Sinestro had coerced over half of the Lanterns to join his Fear Corps to eliminate the Guardians and what he viewed as their corrupt bureacracy. Abya joined the fray, horrified as her remaining lanterns fell around her. Sinestro killed the Guardians and intended to destroy the Lantern Battery, but Abya defended it. Sinestro mortally wounded her and was poised to destroy the Battery. Hal Lane, watching from the Ship, impulsively shot the craft hurdling towards Sinestro, crashing into the Battery. Abya's ring left her for Hal and she was amazed that it flew towards the ship, along with all of the fragments of the Core of the Battery, which enveloped Hal while fusing with his body. His skin was coated with the emerald dust of the destruction and a single Emerald Shard was lodged into his forehead. Hal was imbued with all of the innate abilities of the Green Lantern, within his own body. He lashed out against the remaining Fear Corps with a shockwave that sent the remaining Corps flying uncontrollably into deep space.

Hal returned to Abya, who spoke to him with his last dying breath, the Lantern Oath, and escaping a final '...I love you...' with her last breath. Hal screamed, sending out a telepathic shout heard galaxies away:

"In Brighest Day,
In Darkest Night
No Wickedness
Will Escape my Sight.

Let those who live
for fear and fright,
Beware ME the
Emerald Shard's Might!"

Known as the Emerald Shard (or Shard) he has all the abilities of the GL, amplified and He has no need to recharge. He can create light constructs, generate force fields, fire plasma bolts, fly, telepathically communicate, communicate in virtually all alien languages among other things that have yet to be discovered. He operates out of Earth when he's not hunting the remaining Fear Corps down to eliminate them.
